Kathy McGarrigle is a seasoned financial executive and former COO of Coast Capital Savings, Canada’s largest Credit Union by membership. Previous to joining Coast, she was Senior Vice President Premier Banking for HSBC which she led the HSBC Global Premier strategy that propelled the business and positioned Canada as one the top region’s globally. She has served on corporate and community boards including Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Zajac Foundation, Glentel Inc. and NEI Investments.
She has made a positive contribution to community organizations throughout the Lower Mainland and B.C. including the YWCA, United Way Campaign, Cops for Cancer, Loving Spoonful and B.C Children’s Hospital. In recognition of her leadership and community service, she was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in both 2016 and 2017 and Surrey Business Leader of the Year in 2013.
A passionate advocate and champion for The Salvation Army she has chaired the Capital Campaign for the Kate Booth House and the Hope in the City Campaign. She currently serves as an advisor to the Board Diversity Council of Canada and Women’s Executive Network, Vice-Chair for the Greater Vancouver Salvation Army’s Advisory Board and Chair of the Women’s Giving Circle .Ms. McGarrigle is a graduate of the Queens University Executive Program, Institute of Corporate Directors, and a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
