On September 16, 2021, we hosted our Inaugural Nine Stories of Hope Golf Tournament, an 18-hole tournament exclusive fundraising event supporting a once-in-a-generation project that will help transform the Downtown Eastside.

Every dollar raised will go directly to support the building of a new Vancouver Harbour Light facility at 130 East Cordova Street.

With the participation of the 24 teams consisting of 96 golfers and support from our very generous sponsors, we were able to raise over $71,000.  An incredible start to creating momentum for more events to come.

A special thanks go out to our Campaign Patron, Mr. Paolo Aquilini for his generous support and for allowing us to host the tournament at the Golden Eagle Golf Club in Maple Ridge. As promised, it was a fantastic day filled with fun, great food, prizes, and sunshine.

Thank you to the Young Professionals Committee, a group of committed, and passionate individuals from a variety of backgrounds; development, retail, consulting, and media were all instrumental to the organization and success of the tournament. And we thank them for their continued support.

We would also like to thank our volunteers and DHQ staff who rolled up their sleeves to help out with the tournament. It was an incredible team effort, all around.

Building on this year’s achievements, we are looking forward to next year’s tournament with an even bigger turnout at the University Golf Club.
